US 10-year Treasury bills touched down to 2-month low

For the time being, 10-year bond rates are trading around 2.17%. The curve between the 10-year and 2-year bond rates is around 83 basis points. The decline in long-term yields and the flattening of the yield curve are downward for the USD and vice versa.

US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said the confidence in the debt ceiling to increase in September is “100%”. But the Republicans are divided over financial matters and Trump’s legislative ability will be tested once more.

The Born ceiling needs to be raised by September 29th, though some say the deadline is the middle of October. The hardships may cause the US government to shut down and spread shock waves to the global financial markets.
